'Goldthorpe Community Gardens Scheme and Goldthorpe Development Group', residents and landlords worked together to rid the area of rubbish. Streets cleaned included: lower High St, Barnburgh Lane, Albert Rd, Frederick St, Poplar Ave, Wellington St, Princess Rd, including all backings etc. Two skips were filled. There were 17 volunteers involved whom donated in total 57 hours of their time and a further 14 other residents availed of the skip incentive. We also had a lovely lad, Luke from the 'Duke of Edinburgh' award scheme join us too!! Thank you to the volunteers for all the hard work!

We enjoyed a productive morning refurbishing one of Goldthorpe's street planters today. Seven volunteers were involved, starting at 9 am on the 'Railway View' feature that was severely neglected and overgrown. In total, 20 hrs of volunteer time was given. We would like to thank the residents, shopkeepers, and landlords whom did a brilliant job.

Thanks also to Cafe Bijou for the teas etc, much appreciated. It demonstrates what can be done when people work toghether for the benefit of all.

The feature will then be fully planted with seasonal bedding etc when the time is right.
Thank you.
